About us
trywetrack.com is owned and operated by [Registered Company Name], which runs the WeTRACK shipment-visibility platform. References to "we" or "us" mean [Registered Company Name]. We decide why and how your personal data is processed, which makes us the controller under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and the Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").
Scope of this policy
This policy applies to (a) visitors to trywetrack.com; and (b) business professionals whom we contact, or who contact us, about our logistics and shipment-visibility services. It does not apply to data we process on behalf of customers inside the WeTRACK platform, which is governed by the relevant customer agreement.
Your right to object to outreach
You have an unconditional right to object to direct marketing. To exercise it, reply to any of our emails asking us to stop, or contact privacy@trywetrack.com. We will cease all outreach to you across all of our sending domains no later than 10 business days after receiving your request. We retain your email address on a suppression list for the sole purpose of respecting your objection.
Categories of data
- Identity and role data: full name, designation and employer.
- Contact data: business email address, business phone number and office location.
- Organisational data: company name, website, industry and publicly available trade or shipment information.
- Interaction data: messages exchanged with us and delivery status of our emails.
- Log data: IP address, user-agent and access time, held by our hosting provider.
We do not knowingly process special-category or sensitive personal data.
How we obtain it
Most of the information we hold was either provided by you or made public in a professional context: on your company's website, in a professional networking profile, in trade and customs publications, or in industry directories. We also use reputable business-data vendors that are contractually required to have collected data lawfully, and occasionally receive professional introductions.
Why we use it, and on what legal basis
We use personal data to: contact professionals about services relevant to their role; respond to enquiries; honour opt-out requests; secure our systems; and meet legal obligations.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in reaching businesses that may benefit from our services, having balanced those interests against your rights: we contact you only in your business capacity, keep messages relevant and infrequent, and make opting out immediate and permanent. Where the DPDP Act applies, we process personal data that you have made publicly available in a professional context, and rely on your consent wherever the law requires it; you may withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. We also process data where necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
Disclosure to others
Personal data is never sold, rented or traded. It is disclosed only to (a) vendors that process it on our behalf, such as email hosting, email-sending, CRM, data-verification and web-hosting providers, under contracts that restrict them to our instructions and require appropriate security; (b) our professional advisers; (c) public authorities when legally compelled; and (d) a buyer or successor of our business, on terms that preserve the protections in this policy.
Storage periods
Outreach data: deleted or anonymised on opt-out or within 24 months of last engagement, whichever is sooner. Customer and partner correspondence: relationship term plus the period required by law. Hosting logs: short-term, for security only. Do-not-contact entries: retained for as long as needed to give effect to your objection, and restricted to your email address and the date of the request.
International transfers
Some of our service providers store or process data outside India or outside your country of residence, including in the United States and the European Union. Where the GDPR applies, we put appropriate safeguards in place, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not transfer personal data to any country or territory restricted by the Government of India under the DPDP Act.
Security
Personal data is protected by technical and organisational measures proportionate to its sensitivity: encrypted connections, role-based access restricted to personnel who need it, unique logins with two-factor authentication, and contractual security commitments from our vendors. While no system can be guaranteed to be impenetrable, we will notify you and the competent authorities without undue delay, as required by law, if a breach affects your data.
Website tracking
We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or analytics on trywetrack.com, and the page makes no calls to third-party services. Standard access logs are generated by our hosting provider solely to keep the site secure.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your personal data; to have it corrected, completed or updated; to have it erased; to object to its processing (including an absolute right to object to direct marketing); to restrict processing; to data portability; to withdraw consent at any time; to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity (under the DPDP Act); and to grievance redressal.
To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@trywetrack.com. We will respond within 30 days, may ask you to verify your identity, and will not charge a fee. If you are unhappy with our response, you may escalate to our Grievance Officer (below) and then complain to the Data Protection Board of India or, in the EU or UK, to your local data protection authority.
Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling.
Minors
This website and our correspondence are directed at business professionals only. We do not knowingly process the personal data of children (individuals under 18). Any such data brought to our attention will be erased without delay.
Revisions
We review this policy periodically. Revised versions take effect when posted on this page, as indicated by the effective date. Significant changes will be clearly flagged, and any change that legally requires your consent will not apply to you until you have given it.
